Privacy choices

The backup, recovery, deletion and ride instructions below describe version 1.0.1. Version 1.0 remains available while the update is prepared. In version 1.0, automatic backup does not use the new explicit choice, cloud recovery omits some records and attachment files, and rides need the recording screen to stay active. Keep original papers and a portable export before deleting records or changing devices.

Your working records stay on your device. You choose private iCloud backup, Care Circle sharing, exports and optional diagnostics separately.

Effective October 2, 2026

Automatic backup is your choice

Automatic iCloud backup starts only after you enable it in Backup. You can disable it there. Manual backup remains available without enabling automatic backup, and existing cloud backups are kept. Review incomplete attempts and missing files before relying on a backup.

Sharing choices

Care Circle uses Apple account invitations. Choose what to share and manage participants from the horse's Care Circle screen. Removing a participant ends their current sharing access. It does not recall copies they already exported. Restoring a backup does not restore sharing permissions.

After deleting records

Completed deletion removes this device's records and managed files, private Tackroom backups and assets, and owned Care Circle data. It leaves joined shares without deleting another owner's records. It does not cancel an Apple subscription, remove another device's local library, recall exports or erase support emails. Contact us about information you sent by email.

Ask us about your data

Email tackroom@thesmios.com to request access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection or portability. Please use “Tackroom data protection request” in the subject and avoid attaching records unless we ask for them through a secure method.

Requests can be subject to identity checks, the rights of other people named in a record, and legal limits that apply to the particular request. See the privacy notice for more detail.
