The backup, recovery, deletion and ride instructions below describe version 1.0.1. Version 1.0 remains available while the update is prepared. In version 1.0, automatic backup does not use the new explicit choice, cloud recovery omits some records and attachment files, and rides need the recording screen to stay active. Keep original papers and a portable export before deleting records or changing devices.

Get started on Free
Add one active horse, save a Coggins, health certificate, vaccination record or general document as your starter paper, then set a reminder. Open the saved paper again from Records. Corrections and replacement versions of that paper remain available on Free.
Reports includes unlimited basic handover PDFs and free data export. Additional structured papers, richer reports and sharing require a paid plan.
Backup and recovery
Open Backup to choose automatic backup, make a manual backup, check coverage or select an older completed snapshot. Automatic backup is off until you choose to enable it. Turning it off keeps existing backups.
If a file is missing or iCloud is unavailable, the attempt remains incomplete for retry. A completed snapshot appears only after its files have uploaded. Keep the app open for a manual retry and check the completed date.
Reports can import a Tackroom recovery ZIP or supported older JSON backup. Review the coverage preview. Older formats may omit trusted records, Operations, pending actions or attachment bytes. Import validates files before merging records and preserves newer local entries.
Ride interruptions
Start recording from the horse’s ride screen. Choose background access when you want recording during screen lock, or explicitly choose foreground-only recording. Force quitting stops recording.
After relaunch, open the ride screen to resume or finish an interrupted ride. Captured points remain saved. Gaps are identified rather than filled with invented points. If finishing fails, return to the ride and retry.
Subscriptions and reminders
Open Plans and choose Restore Purchases while signed into the Apple account used for purchase. Manage or cancel renewal in Apple’s subscription settings. Deleting records does not cancel billing. After a downgrade, saved records remain readable and data export stays free.
For missing reminders, check the due date, time zone and notification permission. Also check Focus and notification settings on the device. Keep checking Today for important care.
Sharing and deletion
Manage Care Circle participants from the horse’s sharing screen if access needs to change. Removing access does not recall a copy someone already exported.
If deletion stops, the app shows the unfinished step. Restore connectivity or iCloud access as needed, then choose Retry deletion. Writes, backup and ride recording remain paused until cleanup finishes. Local records are retained while remote cleanup is unfinished.
